Scheduled program

On the date 13-15 of June 2008 a number of events have been planned, which constitute the program of celebrations, commemorating the existence in Warsaw and its neighborhood the Protestants of Lutheran denomination (both having essential polish roots as well as newcomers from different countries). All the events have to present an influence of Protestants on cultural, social and economic life of the city. He program will consist of two blocks: historical-scientific-popularizational and artistic.

In the framework of the first block the following events have been scheduled:

1. Scientific session and occasional exhibition organized in cooperation of Warsaw University Library untitled: "Protestants in the history of Warsaw";

2. International discussion panel for students devoted to threats and challenges to cultural tradition in globalization era (also in cooperation Warsaw University Library and Conrad Adenauer Foundation);

3. Exhibition of large format pictures displayed on the enclosure surrounding the Holy Trinity church, showing some selected elements of the Lutherans' history in Warsaw;

4. Publications – scientific one which will consist of the results of the above mentioned session and popular one, presenting the history of Protestantism in Warsaw as well as their influence on the life of the Capital city;

5. Documentary film elaborated in a cooperation with Ecumenical Editorial of the Polish TV;

6. Website devoted to celebrations, including among others interactive map called "Evangelical traces in Warsaw".

 

In the framework of artistic block the following events have been planned:

7. A picnic around the Holy Trinity Church on the Małachowski Place which will include performances of different artists, contests, auctions, games for both kids and adults;

8. Historical role playing concerned with the laying of cornerstone of the Holy Trinity Church, prepared in cooperation with reconstructing groups;

9. Jazz session;

10. A concert of serious music;

11. Outdoor multimedia presentation.

 

An advertising campaign (posters, invitations in media, personal invitations) will precede the above mentioned. We foresee at the same time that a number of articles will be published both in newspapers as well as in weekly magazines.
